An event is any single usage record you send to MetricaOS's ingestion API - for example, one LLM API call, one batch of tokens processed, or one image/audio request. Batch ingestion counts each item in the batch as one event; deduplication via idempotency keys means retried events aren't double-counted.
You'll get a notification as you approach your limit. Overage handling follows the rules you configure in your credit engine - you can choose to allow overage billing at a per-event rate, or set a hard limit that pauses non-critical ingestion until the next cycle. We'll never silently drop your usage data.
It depends on how you configure each wallet. MetricaOS supports both carry-forward and reset-at-renewal policies per customer wallet, so you decide whether unused credits expire at the end of a billing cycle or roll into the next one.

Events are raw usage records (e.g., one API call). Credits are the unit your rule-based credit engine deducts against a customer's wallet for that usage - you define the conversion (e.g., 1,000 input tokens = 2 credits). Both events and credits are tracked separately so you can gate on ingestion volume and monetization simultaneously.
